Biography
Shawnee Smith's first appearance in a feature film was in the
1982 film adaptation of the play Annie. Several years later, she
starred in the hit 1987 comedy film Summer School as the
pregnant teen Rhonda Altobello and in the 1988 remake of the
Steve McQueen classic The Blob as Meg Penny. Shawnee Smith is
also well known for her role in the 2004 horror film Saw,
reprising the role for the sequel, Saw 2. In the DVD commentary
of Saw 2, it was revealed that Shawnee was four months pregnant
with her second child during filming. She is also scheduled to
reprise her role in the upcoming sequel Saw III.
Shawnee's best known television role was Linda, a nurse's aide,
on the CBS hit comedy series Becker. Another well known role was
mean girl Julie Lawry in the 1994 mini series The Stand.
Shawnee Smith has made several guest appearances on television
shows, such as Cagney & Lacey, Murder, She Wrote, The X-Files,
Players and loaned her voice for an episode of the Disney
cartoon Kim Possible as Vivian Porter.
